Schuster Promoted to Youth Director

FC Wisconsin is excited to announce that Teren Schuster has been promoted to the Youth Director position starting with immediate effect. Moving forward Schuster will direct and oversee the clubs U11 and U12 Youth Programs working with each and every player and team within these age groups.

Schuster who enters his sixth year with the club is a native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and played his youth career for Dakota Alliance Soccer Club in Sioux Falls. During his time at Dakota Alliance, he won eight straight state championships, captaining the team during six of those years. He also had a successful high school career in Sioux Falls for Lincoln High School. Schuster won three state championships, captained the team for two of those years, and was named the “Soccer 605” 2014 State Player of the Year.

Schuster finished his playing career at Cardinal Stritch University where he was a vital part of the Wolves national success. During his time, he won two regular season conference titles, two conference tournament titles, and made an elite eight national tournament appearance. Schuster had his best individual season in 2018 during his senior year recording 18 goals and five assists in 23 games. He also won multiple individual awards during his playing time at Stritch including: All-Academic Team, First Team All-Conference, NAIA All-American Honorable Mention, NAIA National Tournament Team, and NAIA National Tournament Most Valuable Offensive Player.

He has been with the club for the past five years and has shown himself to be one of the best up and coming young coaches in the Midwest. Since becoming a full-time staff member of the staff,  Teren has shown all the qualities needed to develop players within these age groups. He has a great knowledge and passion for the game. Most importantly, his positivity and coaching demeanor with players within these age groups is exactly what is needed to help cultivate confident players with a love for the game. This continues to highlight the forward progression of the club and our continued commitment to providing our players with the best collaborative coaching environment possible,” said Co-Director of Coaching Ben Shepherd.

The culture, learning environment, and player development model within the club is unmatched. I will be striving to continue that trend with our young players within the organization. Coach Ryan Otten will no longer be a part of the FC Wisconsin coaching staff. We thank Ryan for his work over the last 18 months and wish him well in his future endeavors.
