Five Selected to attend U.S. National Team Training Center

9.4.15 – FC Wisconsin is proud to announce that five of its players have been selected to participate in the United States National Team Training Center with U14 National Team Coaching Staff on September 8th, in Chicago.

According to U.S. Soccer, “Training Centers provide player identification opportunities for players with high potential to train under the direction of U.S. Soccer Youth National Team coaches and staff. TCs are a critical element to the U.S. Soccer development model and are designed to improve talent identification and evaluation, player development, and coaching development”.

U14 National Team Head Coach Brian Johnson who will lead the session has selected the following five players to attend the training center:  Erich Legut 2001 birth year, Colin Bjerke 2001 birth year, Colin Satchie 2001 birth year, Luke Thew a 2002 birth year and Jordan Stump another 2002 birth year.

Former SC Waukesha player Takumi Ikeda now with the Chicago Fire will be the only other Wisconsin player in attendance.

“As a Club we continue to work closely with U.S Soccer to help provide these types of opportunities for our elite players. This is a testament to our club culture, our club curriculum and the effort that everyone connected to the Club places on true player development”, said Co-Director of coaching Ben Shepherd.

Players will attend the US Training Center in Chicago on September 8th and be evaluated over the course of training sessions by the US Nationals team staff.  Players attending are all those selected by the US Assessors who have attended the various club training sessions across the Midwest.

“These players are very talented and very deserving and certainly make us all proud, but they also understand the importance of hard work, being pushed by their teammate’s day in and day out in the proper training environment and putting in some homework we give them off the field.  We couldn’t be more proud of these players and the club for the all the hard work,” said Co-Director of coaching Billy Solberg.

FC Wisconsin would like to congratulate all of the Wisconsin players that will be in attendance.
