For immediate release 11.28.16: Fourteen FC Wisconsin players receive All-State recognition from the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association.
The Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association released its 2016 Wisconsin High School Boys' Soccer All-State Teams last week, which was dominated by current FC Wisconsin players. Similar to last year FC Wisconsin has the most players receiving High School awards than any other club in the State.
Defender, Ben Leas received the State Player of the year award and helped Marquette University High School to another Division I state Championship. The Wisconsin commit along with fellow FC Wisconsin player Zak Wegner has also been selected to participate in the High School All-American All-Star Game in Raleigh, North Carolina the weekend of December 3rd.
This marks the 2nd year in a row that an FC Wisconsin player has been named the WSCA Player of the Year with Blake Carr (now a freshman at Wisconsin) receiving the same accolade in 2015.
The WSCA also named four FC Wisconsin players to the All-State First Team, which was more than any other club in the State. Seniors Ben Leas, Bradan Allen, Zak Wegner and Antonio De Castro were the players that earned First-Team selections.
Isaac Putzier who helped Green Bay Preble reach the Division I State Championship received WSCA All-State Second Team honors.
Further honorees were, Alex Hummel (Sr), Dominic Lambo (Jr ), Griffin Pecore (Jr), Payton Aranda (Jr) Lance Janowski (Sr) , Michael Henry (Sr) , Nate Brody (Sr) Will Hamilton (Sr) and Zuhad Ansari (Sr) who all received Best of the Rest Honorable Mentions.
