Alumni Continuing To Impress In College

FC Wisconsin continues to have more college alums than any other club in the state of Wisconsin. With more than 80 current alums playing college soccer accross the U.S. at every level, FC Wisconsin players are making a big imprint as they move to the next stage of their careers.

With the college season now at the midpoint of the year, FC Wisconsin alums are continuing to play major roles in their team’s current successes. More club alums are continuing to make their mark in Division I, II, III, and NAIA competition across the country.

 

 

NCAA Division I:

  • Marquette University: The Golden Eagles have had a solid start to their season standing at 4-4-1 and 1-1 in the Big East. After a close fought 1-0 defeat to Creighton, they bounced back well to defeat Xavier on the road 2-1 and earn their first Big East win of the season. Zak Wegner as a red-shirt sophomore has started all nine games and recorded four shots on goal. Senior Leo Villa coming off an impressive 2018 season has now returned from injury and has started the last six games.

  • University of Wisconsin - Green Bay: The Phoenix has had a tough start to the season going 1-5-2. Senior Michael Carreon has started in all eight games tallying one assist from Left Back. Fellow senior Robleh Omar has seen action in six games tallying an assist in the 3-1 win over Western Illinois.

  • Wright State University: The Raiders are coming off an excellent 2-2 tie with the #18 ranked Duke University on Tuesday night. Senior Stefan Rokvic, coming off an excellent 2018 season, has started all nine games scoring six goals on the season ranking him in the Top 25 in the nation in goals per game. Sophomore Simar Perez who has been battling an ankle injury has seen action in six games, tallying two shots on goal.

  • Northern Kentucky University: Senior Abdul Kooistra, who has been battling injury for parts of the season, has started three games on the year. Kooistra helped the Norse to their 2-1 Horizon league win over Wright State last weekend.

  • Eastern Illinois University: The Panthers have had one of their best starts to a season in recent times sitting at 4-4-1. Freshman Quinn Rechner has started all nine games and leads the team in minutes played. Rechner has anchored a backline that has kept two shutouts in successive games. Sophomore Cole Stephens has seen action in five games, adding one assist on the year.

  • Northern Illinois University: The Huskies have had a solid start to the season and currently stand at 4-5-1. Sophomore Jaden Stevenson has played in three games and saw action in the recent OT win over Milwaukee to retain the Lewang Cup.

  • Drake University: The Bulldogs have had a solid start to the season posting a 5-4 record, winning four out of their last five games. Red-shirt sophomore and Wisconsin transfer Bradan Allen has started all nine games and ranks fifth on the team in total minutes played.

 

NCAA Division II:

  • University of Wisconsin - Parkside: The Rangers currently stand at 4-3 for the year and 3-0 in conference having won their last 3 games. Junior forward and Marquette University transfer Tode Atlija leads the team in goals and total points scoring three goals and adding one assist on the season. Senior Burim Huseini is also tied for total points with two goals and three assists to his name. Senior Jack Krenzien has started all seven games, leads the team in minutes played and has scored one goal on the season. Fellow senior Stevi Krecak has also started in all seven games, ranks second in total minutes played and has tallied one assist. Freshman Chris Estrada has seen action in one game.

  • Northern Michigan University: The Wildcat sits at 4-5 for the season having lost four games by just the one goal. Junior Brady Kronenberg has played in five games and added one assist on the season.

  • Upper Iowa University: Junior Cameron Bosacki has started all seven games adding one assist and fellow junior Tate Lofdahl has seen action in seven games adding one goal on the season.

 

NCAA Division III:

  • Concordia University: Junior Cristian Tyrpak following on from a successful sophomore campaign already has six goals and three assists on the season for 15 points. Tyrpak had a goal and assist in the recent 3-0 in against Concordia Chicago. Sophomore Grahm Pratt has seen action in two games posting one shot on goal. Freshman Mattson Wick has also seen action in three games.

  • University of Wisconsin - Platteville: The Pioneers improved this week to 4-5-2 with a hard fought win over Wartburg College. Freshman Cayden Carlson has started 10 games and has already notched three goals on the season for six points. Carlson ranks second on the team for goals scored and total points. Fellow freshman Vince Kelly has seen action in seven games and DJ Reichel has seen action in two games. Sophomore goalkeeper Will Sullivan has made two appearances starting one game.

  • St. Norbert College: Junior Domenic DeMaria and sophomore Mitchell Scholz have helped St. Norbert to another good start to the season with a 7-2-2 record. Scholz ranks second on the team for goals and points with three goals and two assists for eight points. DeMaria has started all 11 games and has one goal on the season. Freshman Cole Goff has seen action in seven games.

  • Wartburg College: The Knights opened the season in dramatic style with a 3-2 OT win over Westminster and are currently 3-3-2. Captain Sam Thomann is currently out through injury but freshman Max Siade-Cox has seen action in eight games and fellow freshman Parker Schimmers has made one appearance.

  • Carroll University: The Pioneers have started the season strong and currently sit at 6-3. Freshman Brendan Shiroda has started all nine games and leads the team in total minutes played. Shiroda tallied his first collegiate assist in the 5-2 win over Coe College. Sophomore Andy Golden has seen action in five games starting in the win over Coe College posting one shot on goal.

  • Wisconsin Lutheran College: The Warriors improved to 5-4 with their recent 3-0 win over Lakeland College. Sophomore Mario Caldwell has started all nine games and leads the team in total minutes played.

  • Claremont - Mudd - Scripps College: Junior Nate Brody has seen action in all 10 games as the stags sit at 7-2-1. Brody would play against fellow FCW alum and Madison native Madison Conduah in the 1-0 win over Emory.

  • St. John's University: The Johnnies have started the season well with a 6-3 record. Sophomore Drew Engel has seen action in three games.

  • MSOE: Sit at .500 this season with a 4-4-1 record. Sophomore Max Starks has seen action in all nine games, and Stephen Scripp has seen action in three games on the season.

  • Emory College: Freshman Madison Conduah helped the Eagles improve to 5-3-1 on the season scoring the game-winning goal in the recent 3-0 win over Rhodes College. Conduah has seen action in seven games scoring three goals with one assist for a total of seven points. Conduah ranks second on the team in total points, and has played more minutes than any other freshman.

  • Rockford University: The Regents under FC Wisconsin Coach Josh Rohde started the season with a double overtime win in over Principia. They are currently 4-7-1 overall with freshman Ivan Montes having played in all 10 games tallying one assist. Fellow Freshman Cam Polley made his collegiate debut in the loss to Greenville and has seen action in three games.

  • University of Wisconsin - Whitewater: The Warhawks have had an excellent start to the season going 11-1. Sophomore Ben Weltzien has seen action in six games posting one goal and one assist.

  • Marion College: Sophomore Tallon Schuster has started 10 games adding a goal and an assist to help the Panthers to 3-6-1 start to the season.

  • University of St. Thomas (MN): The Tommies currently sit at 4-3-3 on the season. Freshman AJ Berndt has made one appearance on the season and Junior goalkeeper Niklas Martensson has also made one start.

 

NAIA:

  • Cardinal Stritch University: FC Wisconsin Coach Jamie Bladen and the nationally ranked Stritch Wolves have started the season with 5-3 record. After an impressive 2018 season, Salvador Nunez (Jr) has already notched 2 goals and 1 assist to start the season. Antonio De Castro (So) who transferred from UW-Green Bay has started all 8 games and also has 1 goal and 1 assist to date. Luis Wilson Carlos (So) has also seen action in 3 games.
